This view looks to the northwest along Carson Street, from the intersection with Fourth. In the immediate foreground is the Little Mint pawn shop, trading in rare coins, jewelry, antiques, stamps, guns, and "anything of value". Next door, at 312 S. Carson, is Fitzhenry's Capital City Mortuary.
An empty lot and an old truck sit between the mortuary and the St. Charles Hotel. Here it is still called the Pony Express Hotel. At the close end signs advertise chinese food at the Hong Kong Restaurant. At the other end of the building is Jim's Jungle Bar. On the far side of Third Street is Heritage West Realty and Liberty Jewelry and Loan.
