Source Caption: #ThrowbackThursday to 1947. Pictured here is The Old County Hospital, now known as St. Mary's Art Center. Because there were so many mining accidents back in the day, Virginia City was in desperate need of a hospital, which is why it opened in 1875 and served its community for decades. Now, St. Mary's is part community center and part art gallery. Stay tuned for its reopening and hours of operation.
