Description

Carson City businessman Abe Cohn ran a curio shop in Tahoe City in the early 20th century. Here famed Washoe basketweaver Dat-So-La-Lee worked on and sold her baskets during the summer months. The shop was located in Hurley's Cottage, located on a spit of land in Tahoe City. This was on the north bank of where the Truckee River leaves Lake Tahoe.

Source Caption: Abe & Amy Cohn offered Datsolalee their curio shop at Lake Tahoe during the summer, as a venue for her weaving and basket sales. There, Datsolalee would live along with Mrs. Cohn prior to returning to Carson City, NV during the winter, where the Cohn's Emporium Company became Datsolalee's main place to demonstrate weaving and to sell her baskets.
