Ice Cutting on the Divide

Cutting blocks of ice out of the frozen Divide Reservoir, on the hill in between Virginia City and Gold Hill. Before refrigeration, this was the only was to get ice on the Comstock. The blocks would be stored in sawdust and could last all summer.
