Description

The International Hotel in Virginia City (seen here from another angle) held the offices of the California Stage Company. Here a stagecoach is all loaded and ready to depart, via Geiger Grade, to Reno. From there it would follow the future path of the Transcontinental Railroad (still being built) over the Sierra at Donner Summit and on to Sacramento.
