Description

Two girls pose in front of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad on its last day of operation, May 31, 1950. The locomotive is #27, which had been pressed into service during the last month of operation. The train is stopped at the Carson City depot; in the background you can see the Civic Auditorium. The girls are Kay & Maggie Fothergill.
