Description

Before the Nevada State Railroad Museum was established, equipment from the Virginia and Truckee Railroad was stored in various places around town. In 1971 & 1972, some equipment was stored in a field in Mound House. This is V&T Coach No. 4. It had been used for movie work in California, and on the trip back to Nevada it had a run-in with a low overpass, which crushed the roof. Tom Davis captured this view of the damaged interior. It was placed in Mound House while awaiting a more permanent home, which it later found at the Railroad Museum.
