In the 1970s and 1980s, Virginia and Truckee Locomotive #27 was on display in Virginia City. It was displayed on the former site of the railroad's passenger depot. This May 1972 photo shows it with badly fading paint. In 1993 it was moved to the Nevada State Railroad Museum where it underwent a cosmetic restoration.

Source Caption: I recently came across this photo of V&T 27, taken by my friend, Kermit Paul (who sadly passed away in Feb. 2018). Kermit was part of the special "V&T Excursion" trip from Sacramento, May 1972 (note the school buses). Taken from up the hill, looking towards the east in Virginal City.
