This photo of the Mexican Mill in Empire was taken in the early 1900s. The Mexican Mill was one of the many mills that processed Comstock ore, and one of the closest ones to Carson City. It was situated in the town of Empire at the bend of the Carson River. The V&T Railroad passed right by the mill to deliver ore from Virginia City; some of the ore cars can be seen on an elevated siding that goes right inside the mill.
