Description

V&T Engine #26 stopped next to the Carson City stone enginehouse. The engine looks very grimy here, a far cry from the glory days of the V&T when crews would spend the night polishing the brass on the engines. The years of caked-on oil also make it look very flammable, so it's not surprising that this engine burst into flames in a claustrophobic enginehouse in Reno a couple of years after this photo was taken.
