Description

A street sign announces that you are entering the "Carson City Urban Area". These signs came about when Carson City consolidated with Ormsby County. The former city limits became the urban area, and the unincorporated areas of the county were known as the rural area.

This photo was taken on north Carson Street, near Nye Lane. In the background is Meeks' Lumber, and signs for Mayfair and Thrifty Drug. A group of bikers has stopped on the shoulder of the road here.
