Reno Evening Gazette

Description

A newspaper article from the Reno Evening Gazette about Sparks Mansion, also known as the Moffat Ranch house. This mansion at the corner of Virginia and Peckham Streets in Reno was the home of Governor John Sparks, who became governor in 1903. By the 1970s, the mansion was abandoned and derelict. It was in danger of being torn down, but it was purchased and moved to a new site in Pleasant Valley, along Hwy 395 south of Reno.
