This is a Carleton Watkins view of the eastern part of Virginia City. The Consolidated and California Mine Shaft is the large mining works at the center. The building in the foreground at the bottom is a portion of the Chollar, Norcross, and Savage Combination Shaft. This is one piece of a stereo pair.
