Description

A Virginia and Truckee excursion train, fronted by engine #11 "The Reno", hauls tourists up to Virginia City. The passengers are from the Chicago Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society; the date is July 19, 1938. The engine here has disconnected from the train so it can turn around for the run back down the hill. This was one of the final times the V&T ran over these rails before they were abandoned.
