Description

The Arizona-Comstock Mill operated in Virginia City in the 1930s to try to recover some of the gold and silver that the technology of the 1800s wasn't able to extract from the ground. They worked in some of the old underground mines, but also did some open pit mining that resulted in the Loring Cut.
