Description

Buildings in downtown Verdi, on the south side of the train tracks. This downtown burned and was rebuilt on the north side of the tracks. The Toscano Hotel and The Oak are seen here.

Source Caption: The main street of Verdi as seen around 1908. Fire destroyed the entire business district in 1916. It was rebuilt on the other side of the tracks. But that district also succumbed to fire. Finally the business area was rebuilt once again this time one block north.
