Description

The Man Who Drives
Half Asleep
Is Now Buried
Six Feet Deep

These four signs were found along Hwy 395, in the Pleasant Valley, on the way to Reno. They advertised the Merry Wink Motel, which was located 4 miles ahead. These Burma Shave-style signs lasted by the highway for many years, long after the motel itself had stopped catering to sleepy drivers. The motel still exists in south Reno, serving as low-income housing. The signs disappeared quite a while ago.
