Watch Our Hospital Grow

In 1968, the Carson-Tahoe Hospital was set to be replaced with a larger building. Construction was well underway next door, but on August 28 a small flame from a controlled burn on the construction site spread to the old hospital's roof. It caught on fire and burned down. Construction on the new hospital was accelerated so it could open sooner to replace the burned building.
