I first found this photo at the Nevada Historical Society in Reno. I also have found information that a Thomas Tennant was here in Dayton in the early 1860s and was involved with the first ever water rights issue on the Carson River.
Since my husband Stony and I love Dayton and Nevada history, it's exciting to see the possibility that our family being here so long ago. Both these Tennants were involved with the Legislature, I'm guessing they were related. Do you have an photos of Thomas Tennant.
Interestingly, Stony came to the Comstock in the 1960s and got enthralled with mining history, learned to run Donovan's stamp mill in Silver City and other mining ventures and adventures.

Oliver W. Tennaut, 1870-1921, was working for the V&T by Feb 1889. Tennaut replaced Lawrence Leroy Elrod as V&T General Purchasing & Supply Agent in July 1898. "Ollie" was succeeded in Jan 1905 by new V&T GP&SA George A. Tyrell. The GP&SA's Office was in the south-west corner of the V&T's big Enginehouse & Machine Shops in Carson City. OWT returned as V&T Auditor & Paymaster in 1917; he held the position until his death on Jan 19, 1921. - SED
