This is the flume in Clear Creek Canyon. Logs used to shoot down this flume from Spooner Summit, on their way to the wood yard at Carson City.

The Clear Creek Flume is one of many flumes in the Carson Range. Kings Canyon, Voltaire Canyon and the Lakeview area to name a few. Lakeview was the terminus of the great flume where lumber was hauled up from the Incline and wrapping its way through the Carson Range and through a very long tunnel. The Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA is about close to the equivalent the experience people must have experienced riding on flume boats. Could you imagine the adventure?
