Nellie Verrill Mighels Davis

Nellie Verrill Mighels Davis was married to Henry R. Mighels, the editor of the Morning Appeal. She served as a reporter, and helped her husband with the editorial duties. After he died in 1879 she became editor herself.

She later got remarried, to reporter Sam Davis. She outlived him as well, dying at age 100 in 1945.
