Description

An old Model T rattles east on Third Street in this 1920s photo. This was taken from the corner of Third and Fall. It looks west on Third Street, towards the prominent subject in the background. The large building is the White House Hotel, at the northeast corner of Third and Plaza streets. This part of Carson City, just two blocks from the Capitol, is still very rough and undeveloped. A wooden bridge crosses the drainage ditch on Third. The streets are little more than rutted dirt paths, and overgrown weeds are everywhere.

Today this is the site of the Capitol Plaza, between the Capitol and Legislative buildings.
