Description

The rubble remains of one of the old Nevada State Children's Home Cottages.

The cottages were constructed in the 1960s and stopped housing children in 1992. After that, some of the cottages were used as state offices for the Division of Child & Family Services until 2006, and the Carson City Boys and Girls Club until 2009. They remained abandoned until the fire department conducted practice with them on September 10, 2025 and they were initially demolished throughout the following week, before this photo was taken.

Also visible on the left side of this photo is a section of wall that was constructed to separate this building from the traffic on Roop St.
