Description

The Peavine Ranch (also known as the Fielding-Hixson-Anderson Ranch) was on the northern slopes of Peavine Mountain in the 1800s. This was a cattle and sheep ranch near modern-day Stead. The ranch house and living quarters were located along the old highway to Susanville. Today the address is 11220 North Virginia Street. This building was the ranch's blacksmith shop. The buildings on the ranch still exist today.
