This view from downtown Reno seems to be from the 1950s. The old Reno arch is still in place. On the left you can see signs for Harold's Club and the Nevada Club. On the right is Nevada Sporting Goods, the Prima Donna Casino, and several other small clubs and stores stretching all the way to the river. The Riverside Hotel is visible at the end of the street.

Source Caption: Hi, dear folks, Here we are in THE city. Staying her all night. Going to Sacramento, San Francisco and might get to Los Angeles to-morrow night. Drove 594 miles to-day, and have more than that to-morrow, but we hit the thruway from here, so I guess we'll make it. Made 80 cents on the slot machine where we ate--ha! It's really cool here and I hope it stays that way. Sure will be glad to rest our weary rumps when we get to Jean's. More later. Love, Bill and Mabelle Addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Charles Bergmann, 8539 Tara Lane, St. Louis 15, Missouri
