Source Caption: In the foreground is the old Washoe Club which was built in the 1860's and is one of the older buildings in town. Most of the town was destroyed in the great fire of 1875. The town today is a tourist mecca and has been on the public's traveling trips for many years. it is just 23 miles from Reno and 14 miles from Carson City through Silver City and Gold Hill which were the next town in the state in the 50's through the 90's.
