Description

Site of the Mound House, a railroad stop for both the Virginia & Truckee and Carson & Colorado Railroads. In later years two brothels were established near here, as indicated on the two signs at the junction of Red Rock Rd. The V&T depot was located a couple hundred yards behind the signs and between the two roads. This area is now blanketed by warehouses and light industry, as well as trailers and a cat house or two.
