Source Caption: Take a moment to appreciate this incredible 1864 view of C Street in Virginia City, Nevada. Originally part of a stereoscopic image set, this shot may be a bit rough, but it still manages to show us the heart of Virginia City as it was in the 1860s. It's fascinating to think about how much has changed since then, yet so much of the town’s spirit remains the same. : Courtesy of the University of Nevada, Reno, Special Collections Photographs.
