Description

A view of Virginia Street in downtown Reno, looking south with the Riverside Hotel in the distance. On the left is the Hotel Mapes. On the right is the Ginsburg Clock, sitting outside of Ginsburg Jewelry at 133 N. Virginia Street. This clock was moved to Park Lane Mall in the 1960s, then in 2013 to the public plaza that was built on the site where the Mapes used to be.

Source Caption: Calling all Reno Historical and clock geeks; Our bi annual ( until we get rid of the time change deal) event at the clock to change the time an hour is this Sunday! Whoopee! The old meet at the clock at 8am ( It'll still say 7 until we move it forward). We read the poem, acknowledge former participants that have moved on in the stratosphere, read a poem, and then head across the street to the Cal Neva for breakfast. - Tradition! It's pretty fun. The whole world is welcome.
