Description

A roadside sign on the road to Virginia City, telling the story of a time Mark Twain was robbed. This sign was at the "Divide", between Gold Hill and Virginia City. What the sign fails to mention is that the "robbery" was actually a prank by his friends, who fessed up and returned his stolen items the next morning. This sign was placed by the Territorial Enterprise newspaper to encourage tourism.
