A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Third Street in downtown Carson City, marking the beginning of the conversion from a street to a public plaza. Throughout the summer Third Street between Carson and Curry was torn out and replaced with the Bob McFadden Plaza, a pedestrian walkway with a stage, splash pad, seating, and access to the restaurants along the street. Here Mayor Bob Crowell gives a speech to the crowd.
