Description

This view from the 1970s looks west at the V&T Enginehouse from the former rail yards that used to spread out to the east of it. By the time of this photo all the tracks had been torn up and the city street grid had taken over the former railroad land. Carson Tire Inc stands right about where the turntable used to be. The big empty lot the photographer was standing in would later become home to Smith's supermarket in the mid 1980s.
