Source Caption: Some people asked about the Lucky Baldwin house at the Tallac resort area. This was Baldwin's personal "cabin". Note that he had the porch roofs built around the large Jeffery Pine trees. Baldwin loved the large trees and wanted them preserved on his estate which went from the shore of Lake Tahoe to the shore of Fallen Leaf lake. I was told that after Lucky's death the Baldwin family sold the Tahoe land to the US Forest Service partly because they wanted the large trees preserved. I stayed in this house for a few weeks in the mid 1960's. It was taken down shortly after that. This house was located at the west end of the "promenade" at the Tallac resort area. About 100 yards behind the house was a large "carriage" housing facility which was taken down about the same time as Baldwin's house was removed.
