Source Caption: Jessie Beck ran the hotel until 1978, when she sold the Riverside property to Harrah's Entertainment who negotiated with “Pick” Hobson for the Overland Casino. “Pick” oversaw the hotel and casino until it's closure in 1986. In 1989, Canadian businessman Peter Ng purchased the property, where it proceeded to stand empty for the next eight years. In 2000, Artspace, a Minneapolis-based developer converted the hotel into thirty-five artist lofts and developed the ground floor into retail space.
