Southern Pacific Locomotive No. 8 is a narrow gauge engine that worked on the Southern Pacific branch (former Carson and Colorado) in the Owens Valley, California, travelling between Laws and Keeler. After the engine was retired it was donated to the State of Nevada. It was stored in front of Roy Boswell's Eagle Territory Museum at 310 Mountain St. for nine years, before being moved to the State Library downtown. This is a photo of the engine in that front yard.

Source Caption: Many folks forget that when Southern Pacific narrow gauge #8 was fist donated to the State of Nevada in May 1955, it was placed on display at Roy Boswell's Eagle Territory Museum in Carson City. We see here there on this snowy January 31, 1956. She was soon moved to the State Library and years later to her present display site in Sparks.
