Source Caption: State Line South Lake Tahoe in the mid 50's..... And this event was? One of the hundreds of photos taken by Les Sipes, a bay area photographer who worked for the Oakland Tribune and the Contra Costa Times from the 30's through the 70's. This collection of his works has been made available to 680/24 corridor history group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/68024History/) by Lora Ellen Hicks which is being posted there as a daily series. This was the Highway 50 Association Wagon Train parade in Stateline, Nevada, on July 22, 1951. (You can date it from the lineup of entertainers on the marquee of Sahati's Stateline Country Club.)
