Description

Looking at southeast Virginia City, from E Street. The mine buildings to the left belonged to the Arizona-Comstock Mill, which operated in the 1930s to try to recover some of the gold and silver that the technology of the 1800s wasn't able to extract from the ore. The trestle in the lower left corner still stands, passing over the Virginia and Truckee Railroad tracks.
