Source Caption: Virginia & Truckee switch engine Number 21, the "J.W. Bowker." It was built by Baldwin in 1875. After retiring from its second career with the Sierra Nevada Wood & Lumber Company in July 1937 it was donated to the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society and restored. The J.W. Bowker is shown here at the 1949 Chicago Rail Fair.
