Description

Parlor car "The Gold Coast" is spotted under the cottonwoods of the Carson City rail yards. This car was owned by authors Lucius Beebe and Charles Clegg, and they lived here while they researched and wrote a book about the V&T. Lucius Beebe is sitting on the back platform.

Source Caption: On July 30, 1949 a railfan strolling throught the V&T yards in Carson City snapped this photo of the private car "Gold Coast" owned by famed railroad authors and photographers Lucius Beebe and Charles Clegg parked under the cottonwoods.. There on the rear platform we see none other than Mr. Beebe himself enjoying the warm summer afternoon and watching the activity over at the Carson City roundhouse.
