Virginia & Truckee Locomotive #11 "Reno" was used in motion pictures after its time on the V&T. Here it is on location for the film "Cheyenne Social Club".

Source Caption: VIRGINIA & TRUCKEE IN HOLLYWOODBetween 1937 and 1947, Hollywood studios bought steam locomotives #11, #18, #22, and #25 from Nevada’s legendary Virginia & Truckee Railroad for use in motion pictures. Three of them are now at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. Locomotive #11, named “RENO,” was owned by Old Tucson Studios in Arizona until last year, when it was sold to the Virginia & Truckee tourist railroad in Virginia City, Nevada.“Hollywood’s Railroads, Volume One: Virginia & Truckee” tells the story of the films that featured V&T equipment.In 1969, #11 appeared with James Stewart and Henry Fonda in “The Cheyenne Social Club,” which was shot at J.W.
