Source Caption: Carson City, NV. A view from the corner of W Musser & N Carson in July 1955. Closest to the photographer is the Senator Cafe/Club on the right and Fitzmeyer's drug store on the left.
When I was researching this slide last night I found some history that felt like something from a film noir movie. In early 1958 it was brought to light that a card dealer at the Senator was cheating customers which led to the dealer being fired and the Senator losing their gambling licenses. Fast forward to early Christmas morning in 1959 where it all came to a head when the owner of the Senator was gunned down in the parking lot of the Silver Spur (down the street on the left in my slide) by the former dealer.
