Source Caption: The early morning burning of the Robison Building, a commercial venture by George Robison in October 1905, occurred because the only reliable water for fire fighting was from nearby irrigation ditches. The tragedy spurred the City of Sparks into developing a reliable water system. Mayor E.W. Dalton and the Sparks City Council then purchased more fire equipment in the form of hose carts with 400 feet of hose for each cart. #SpiritofSparks
