Description

The final run of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad was on May 31, 1950. The train was made up of Locomotive #27, Combination Car No. 18, Mail, Express & Baggage Car No. 21, Mail & Baggage Car No. 23, and Caboose #24. Here the train is arriving into the Reno depot in the afternoon.

Source Caption: The last train arrives in Reno on May 31, 1950 around 6:45pm. Onlookers watch No. 27 setting out the last train's boxcar near the Southern Pacific Freight House just short of the Reno depot. The historic Club Harlem is on the right.
