A bugler blew taps."Approximately 500 people awaited train No. 1 at the Carson City depot when it arrived from Minden later in the day. According to the Nevada State Journal, the V&T staff brought out the old Carson City station bell for the first time in 25 years to sound the last call for Reno. Retired engineer Jim Savage made an appearance to visit with engineer Bill Recker and fireman Grover Russell, the engine crew on the final train No. 1.
