Description

The final run of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad was on May 31, 1950. The train was made up of Locomotive #27, Combination Car No. 18, Mail, Express & Baggage Car No. 21, Mail & Baggage Car No. 23, and Caboose #24. Here there train travels along Washington Street in Carson City, approaching town from the west. This photo seems to be taken from Mountain Street right next to the Governor's Mansion.
