Source Caption: An interesting thing about Tahoe Tavern is it was a transfer point for all points around Lake Tahoe as roads were scarce noting that in the early 1900s the Emerald Bay Road hadn't been built nor the road connecting north and south Tahoe, so if you wanted to take your car to the other side of the lake one would have barge over. Putnam and Valentine photo around1915.
