A view of the Reno Airport during the flood of January 1997. This seems to have been taken from the hotel tower of the Reno Hilton (Grand Sierra Resort). The airport runway, and all the streets surrounding the airport, were covered with water from the flood.

Source Caption: Nevada Weather Trivia: Heavy snow fell across the area on December 28th and 29th, back in 1964. More than a foot was measured in Carson City with a 15" total reported in Glenbrook. This followed days of heavy rain and flooding. The December ("Christmas") Flood of 1964 left the Reno airport under water, just as the 1950s floods had done, and the 1997 would do later (pictured). The Truckee River crested at 11.96' on December 23, 1964, in Downtown Reno, marking the 9th highest on record.
