Description

The Marye Building was a home on the east side of B Street in Virginia City, built by George Marye. The building burned in June of 1950. The fire spread to buildings on C Street, including the Wonder Lode Bar. This is a photo of the rubble being removed, looking down from B Street to C Street. Now the Virginia City Post Office is on the site of the fire. The Old Washoe Club is to the left. Seen in the distance are the Storey County Volunteer Fire Department and St. Mary's Church.
