Source Caption: This came in a bundle of images well over 10/15 years ago. The date was approximately 1949. And the information said this was celebrating the end of the Virginia Truckee railroad operation at that time..
Yes, I know it's not the San Francisco Bay area. I'm so sorry about that. But in some ways you can make an argument the development of railroading throughout the country is a result economic growth in California including the San Francisco Bay Area.
Boy, talk about a stretch to connect this to our group. Our loyal, railroad fans will understand and I'm sure they're OK with it.
