Description

The Sparks Mansion was the home of Governor John Sparks. It was located on Virginia Street close to Peckham Lane. It was also known as the Alamo Ranch. Governor Sparks died in 1908. The ranch was sold and renamed the Moffat Ranch. The house and water tower are seen here probably in the 1970s. In 1978 the house was moved to Pleasant Valley, along Hwy 395 south of Reno. This is now the site of parking for the Atlantis Casino.
